CURRENT STATUS OF THE COMMISSION

On Sunday 18th may 2003 members of the Legal and Constitutional Commission
conducted a live talk show on the national TV and radio.

This programme which lasted for four hours was aimed at explaining the draft Constitution which would be accepted during the referendum of 26 may 2003.

Apart form the members of the Commission the programme was also attended by the representatives of the National Assembly of whom the Vice President Hon. HIGIRO Prosper explained how the draft Constitution was re-examined in the Parliament. Another guest was the President of the Electoral Commission Professor KARANGWA Chrisologue who explained how the election on the Constitution would take place.

All Rwandans where given chance to ask questions especially on the issues they don't understand using free telephone lines that were provided by RWANDATEL;

In his closing speech the President of the Legal and Constitutional Commission Hon Tito RUTAREMARA thanked the participants and those who asked questions and the answers which were given. He called on all Rwandans to vote the Constitution because it contains their news that was given to the Commission within the period of two years when they were conducted in their sectors, districts and in towns.
